Pets - Sponsored Hires

Pets are not a problem here, either owning them or importing them. Good quality veterinary services are available, although boarding facilities are very limited and expensive.

However, it is expensive to air freight pets to Jordan. It is best to accompany your pet on the same flight. Check with your airline for the cost and restrictions, especially during the summer.

If you intend to bring your pet, you will have to make these arrangements personally. We believe the process is relatively simple, however, as a rule of thumb ACS does not get involved in assisting with this.

There is no quarantine if you bring your pet with you. International documents are necessary for entry. You will need all the immunization cards for the animal, up-to-date rabies shots, and a certificate of health (must be obtained within one week of travel) for the animal. Pet food is expensive but available. Veterinary doctors are available. However, dogs, cats, and other pets are readily available to purchase or adopt in Jordan. Before you do, get the Landlord's approval for the pet.
